Don’t let evasive answers haunt your case.
ROGbuster spots gaps in discovery responses and drafts your meet-and-confer letter. You review the findings and decide what to raise.
Free and open source. Runs inside Claude, so you'll need a Claude account.
THE TOOL IN ACTION
See what’s lurking in their responses.
43 seconds, no sound. Shown with fictional test documents (Pie in the Sky Bakery v. Frostbyte Refrigeration).
A LITTLE LESS HAUNTING. A LOT MORE CLARITY.
From evasive answers to a clear next step.
Upload their responses
PDF, Word, text or photos. Scanned PDFs are read with OCR. Drop the wrong document and ROGbuster tells you.
Add your requests (optional)
Add the requests you served and the complaint, so each answer is judged against what you actually asked and what the case is about.
Review the gaps
Every response gets a 0–5 completeness score and a list of issues. Change the score, X out an issue, add your own, and mark each one reviewed.
Draft the letter
One click drafts a meet-and-confer letter covering every deficient response, addressed to opposing counsel from their signature block. Or export everything to CSV.
A CLOSER LOOK
An answer with a few things missing.
One response from the demo case, as ROGbuster lays it out. You decide what goes in the letter.
Interrogatory No. 1
Identify each person who performed any work on the system, including installation, commissioning, service or repair, and for each person state the dates and nature of the work performed.
Their response
Frostbyte objects to this Interrogatory as overly broad and unduly burdensome. Subject to and without waiving these objections, Frostbyte states that its technicians installed, commissioned and serviced the system in the ordinary course of business.
Issues to raise
- Doesn't identify any technician by name, or the dates and work each performed.
- Boilerplate objections with no explanation of the burden.
What to ask for
Identify each person by name and title, with the dates and work each performed.
Who it's for
Lawyers and paralegals who serve written discovery in US litigation and have to chase incomplete answers.
What you need
A Claude account and a browser. Nothing to install, and nothing to pay for.
What it reads
Interrogatories, requests for production and requests for admission, including responses that open with general objections or a cover letter.
Questions
Where do my documents go?
Your files are read in your browser. Their text is sent to Claude, through your own Claude account, to do the analysis. Your work in progress is saved in your browser on that device. ROGbuster has no server of its own. Follow your firm's policies on using AI tools with client material.
Is this legal advice?
No. ROGbuster is a first pass that points you at likely problems. Claude can miss things or get them wrong, so read each response yourself and edit the letter before you send it.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Scans are read with OCR in your browser, and Claude re-reads any page the OCR struggled with.
Which courts and rules?
It works with US federal and state written discovery. It picks up the court, the parties and both sides' counsel from your documents, and you can correct any of them before drafting the letter.
What does it cost?
Nothing. ROGbuster is free and open source, and you can read every line of it on GitHub. The analysis runs on your own Claude account, so your plan's usage limits apply.
About the creator
ROGbuster was built by Jordan Teague, founding partner at Campbell Teague. Jordan first built an internal version of ROGbuster for written discovery, written in code the old-fashioned way, about 10 years ago. With the recent release of Claude Legal Artifacts, Jordan built and open-sourced this public version of the tool as an artifact.
